The Perfect Master

The Vedas speak my salutations to that Guru who showed me the Imperishable and the Indivisible One,the One present in the movable and immovable creation, and in the entire Universe.
Revered Shri Guru Nanak Dev has also voiced the same fact in this quote:

ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਘਰੁ ਦੇਖਾਇ ਦੇਇ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ॥
घर महि घरु देखाइ देइ सो सतिगुरु पुरखु सुजाणु ॥
Gẖar mėh gẖar ḏekẖā▫e ḏe▫e so saṯgur purakẖ sujāṇ.
(Gurbani,page 1291)
He is the Perfect Master who is capable of revealing the sacred of God within the abode of heart.

Nowadays, spiritual seekers are rushing towards the hermitages of one or the other Guru. But they do not know what they should enquire about before taking their shelter. If you ask such desciples whether their Guru has revealed Divine Light to them, they will be suprised and perplexed - "How is it possible? How can one see Divine Light just by the grace of the Guru ? For this,we need to toil hard and do unceasing efforts for years."

But,this argument of their is not strong. It would be as if a blind person says that with his ceaseless efforts, one day,he would be able to see things around him. What he really needs is the treatment by an experienced surgeon.Only an expert surgeon can operate on his damaged eyes and impart sight to him. There and then, insantly, the patient is able to see things around him,not years after the operation.Similarly, our religious texts inform that when the Guru places his holy palm on the seeker's head,He imparts to him the Divine Eye and makes him see the vision of God instantly - yes, yes, there and then - at the time of initiation ! Without any effort by the seekers! Moreover,it is not temporary faculty that the Perfect Master grants! It is the Everlasting One! The Indestructible One! The permanent cure of ignorance!
